In recent years, global technology has grown rapidly. This growth has been experienced in all walks of life and can be attributed to the rapid changes seen in global communities. In the recent past, the issue of gender diversity was a shame to talk about in most communities around the globe but with the growth in communication technology and the introduction of social media, this topic has come to light and the majority are sharing their views on gender more freely than before.

Just recently, the catholic pope allowed the blessing of same-gender marriages in catholic churches. this was most contributed by the growing number of catholic believers identifying themselves with the LGBTQ and coming out openly regardless of the church's stand on the matter. All this can be attributed to the growth of media technology in recent decades. this kind of openness and diversity in raising issues was impossible in recent past.
